Wednesday, June 4, 2014: What's a Louvre?

11:43 pm (Paris time)
We just got back from dinner with our friends Kenny and Marie. The restaurant we went to had nothing I liked except ice cream, rice and green beans. So that's what I got.

First, though, I have to tell you about the Louvre. It was so awesome! From the outside, it just looks like a normal old building from a couple hundred years ago, but on the inside there's an entire courtyard with a huge glass pyramid smack in the middle. So we got a map and started our exploration of art.

We started with the ground floor, seeing works of art and sculptures such as the Seated Scribe and Aphrodite (aka Venus de Milo). We also saw the Mona Lisa, one of the most famous paintings in the world. It was pretty amazing, seeing all these people swarming around a little work of art. Included in the tour was a painting of Cleopatra's death by asp.

While the Louvre was very fun, it was also full of nudity. From Venus de Milo to Cleopatra, everyone seemed to be naked.
